Introduction

RecipeAI is built and operated by Optimal Apps. This Privacy Policy explains what data RecipeAI collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We try to keep this short and plain. RecipeAI only collects what it needs to save your recipes and run your account.

What We Collect

Account data. When you sign in with Apple or with an email one-time code, we receive your Apple user ID or email address. We use this only to identify your account across devices.

Recipe imports. When you share a link or paste text, we send it to our server so our AI can extract the recipe. When you photograph a recipe, we send the image to our server for processing. Images are used only to extract the recipe and are not retained beyond what is needed to return the result.

Saved recipes. Recipes you save are stored on your device and synced to your account so they are available across your devices.

Usage data. We collect basic anonymous usage data (which screens are used, error reports) so we can fix bugs and improve the app. This data is not sold and does not include the contents of your recipes.

What We Don't Do

We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party ads. We do not share your saved recipes with brands or advertisers. RecipeAI is funded by member subscriptions, not by data brokering.

Service Providers

RecipeAI relies on a small set of trusted third parties to operate: Apple (Sign in with Apple, App Store payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), Mixpanel (anonymized analytics), Convex (database hosting), and OpenAI (AI recipe extraction from links and images). Each of these providers receives only the minimum data required to perform its function.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of the data we hold about your account, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it entirely. To do any of these, contact us at the email below and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

RecipeAI is rated 4+ on the App Store but is not intended for children under 13 to use without parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves. When we make material changes we will update the “last updated” date above and notify users in-app where appropriate.
